"When people treat others with extreme suspicion, with threats of violence and stuff like that... it makes them feel alone. Only people who are like them can be trusted, at that point. If we want this Ichinose to also not turn out to be a genocidal egomaniac, then we have to see if she's still on a ledge and can be walked back from it."

"That said. I don't think it's the responsibility of people who've been victims to be the ones to try and reach out to someone that had abused them. Even if it's not the same Ichinose... you and Zenkichi shouldn't expose yourselves to someone that's hurt you in the past."
